When you are fighting for the environment it can sometimes feel like you are alone. Convincing people to make lifestyle changes to conserve energy, and reduce pollution is an overwhelming battle.

I reviewed several years' worth of free write papers from first-year students at Sonoma State University. Since I am also a first year at Sonoma State, my supervisor asked me to take on this assignment. The students were asked "What is your 'American Dream'?

I have been working at the Center for Community Engagement since the fall of 2010. Learning the responsibilities and duties that this office tackles enlightened me in the CCE's mission, which I have been working hard to contribute to.
