It feels like just yesterday that I was laying on the floor of my Freshman year dorm, drinking an iced coffee and filling out the job application for the Center for Community Engagement’s open student assistant position. It was the first job application I had ever filled out.

I'm excited to welcome Dr. Emily Acosta Lewis and Dr. Susan Campbell who are joining us as Faculty Fellows from Fall 2018-Spring 2021.

We are pleased to welcome three new AmeriCorps VISTA members to the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). Pam, Elizabeth and Suzie are committing the next twelve months of their lives to service with AmeriCorps.

The end of a very hard twelve months has come and it’s time to say goodbye to the VISTAs. We got together to celebrate their accomplishments.

The first weekend in June was full of activity. Just downtown, Sonoma County Pride paraded through the city of Santa Rosa.

I was a part of the class working alongside Professor Emily Seder on the Dear Sonoma Journal. Our initial goal was to compose a journal that not only will help heal Sonoma County but also which can be sold to collect funds going towards the Community Foundation Sonoma County Resiliency Fund.

"Feedback for us is like water for a plant, it's necessary." City Manager, Darrin Jenkins explaining the significance of contributing your thoughts to the City Council of Rohnert Park. This made me feel that although I am still a student, I could contribute valuable insight to our council.
