If you’ve eaten on campus, it is likely that you’ve encountered disposable foodware labeled “Compostable.” You might expect that these should be placed in the Compost waste bins but unfortunately, they actually belong in the Landfill bins.

Fifteen years ago, I moved cross country and began working at Sonoma State. I thought I’d be here for two or three years and then move to a campus in San Francisco or the East Bay.
