Community-Based Federal Work-Study Program

The Center for Community Engagement and the Financial Aid Office invite students and community partners to participate in our Community-Based Federal Work-Study Program.

Students can now work for various community organizations and earn money through Federal Work Study. Federal Work Study (FWS) is a form of financial aid that allows students to work at a job to earn their aid package. Students' paychecks come from the university, but most of the funds come from the federal government. The federal government requires that every university use 7% of its FWS allocation for community service.

The bottom line: SSU students can get paid by the university to do community-based work.
