I'm excited to welcome Drs. Jeremy Qualls and Melissa (Missy) Garvin who are joining us as Faculty Fellows from Fall 2017-Spring 2020. Jeremy is a physicist from the School of Science & Technology (SST) and Missy is a psychologist from the School of Social Sciences (SSS). The Faculty Fellow position has two major and complementary components: 1) faculty development; 2) institutionalization of learning pedagogies for the common good. This means that Missy and Jeremy will be supporting the faculty in their Schools with their community engaged work. Additionally, Jeremy will be working on establishing and supporting the new Community Maker Space. Missy will be working with the SSS to develop more intentionality with community-based internships and CIP.

Next year, two additional Faculty Fellows will join us to serve from Fall 2018-Spring 2021 and the following year one will join to serve from Fall 2019-Spring 2022. So, by fall of 2019, in addition to Faculty Fellows from SST and SSS, we will have Fellows from the Schools of Arts & Humanities, Business & Economics, and Education. This is in addition, not instead of, faculty working on special projects, like Tim Wandling and SAGA.
