Students Blog About Resources for Those Affected by Cancer

Special thanks to service-learning FIG Leadership students in UNIV238-01 for the posts in this special series on resources for those struggling with cancer and their loved ones.

Have you been reading all the blogs based around how to deal with cancer and wondering why these blogs are being posted? Or are you thinking, well who do I contact first? Well, I'm here to tell you all about them! As a class at Sonoma State University, our class is putting on a project to help raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, however a few of us decided to instead focus on a blog that will help the community. So all of the blogs posted about cancer is most likely from our University 238 service-learning class taught by Julie Greathouse.

The few of us writing the blog wanted to get help the community of Sonoma County by writing about the resources available to them if they are dealing with the affects of cancer in their lives. Cancer affects a lot of people and most of them do not know how to deal with it. As a class we wanted to show the community that there are many support groups out there for people who have cancer and also those who are dealing with a family member or friend who has cancer.

As to which resource or group to use, well that is entirely up to you. The blog is here to give a quick summary of the groups out in the community. Previous posts include:
