Come vote on campus! A ballot box is located near the flagpole at the front entrance of SSU and is available for use by Sonoma State students, staff, and the surrounding community. Any California ballot can be dropped there, you don’t need to have a Sonoma County ballot. You can securely cast your vote at any time until 8:00pm on November 3rd.

With the presidential election right around the corner, the cries for social justice are getting louder and there are concerns about safely attending polling stations amid the COVID pandemic. On top of all of this, there is talk about potential delayed USPS service for mail-in ballots. Considering all of this, the desire for a drop off location is stronger now, more than ever. It is time to start thinking not only about voting itself but also the method in which you are going to vote.

While a majority of students have opted out of campus housing, due to online classes, this ballot box will certainly add convenience for the small portion of students who are living on campus and those who still have off campus leases in the area. The Center for Community Engagement is a consistent advocate for voting and we want to see an increase of voter participation among the younger generations. For a long time the CCE has felt that a Ballot Drop Box on campus would help with this goal. This is an exciting achievement for the Center for Community Engagement and we hope that the convenience of the ballot box will encourage voter participation among Seawolves.
