"One of the reasons I was attracted to this position was the energy and excitement of the SSU students to make a difference in their, and my new, community. SSU students are incredibly passionate, and I am ready to see the passion in action." And we here at the CCE are excited to work with her too.
Amanda Hanson is thrilled to join the SSU Associated Students staff as the Community Service Coordinator for Join Us Making Progress (JUMP). Amanda joins JUMP after serving as the Program Coordinator for Community Service in Dickinson College's Office of Community Service & Religious Life. Previously, she completed her Masters in College Student Development and Administration at Shepherd University. While there, she served as both a Graduate Assistant and AmeriCorps VISTA as the Service Learning Coordinator in the Office of Student Engagement.
Service and social justice issues are important to Amanda. Not only did she spend four years with AmeriCorps, but also she worked closely with the Office of LGBTQ Services at Dickinson to develop a service trip to New York City to explore social justice issues specific to the LGBTQ community. She has experience advising Alternative Spring Break programs and has implemented large service days.
Amanda is living in Rohnert Park and most looks forward to exploring California. She is especially excited to photograph the beautiful landscape, a personal passion of hers.
After almost two years at SSU, Genevieve Sullivan has moved on to PuLSE (Programs for Leadership and Service Education) at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
We appreciate Genevieve's service and wish her the best of luck.
