How to Check your Ballot Status

Written by Dino Ortega, CCE Blogger/volunteer, 2026-27

Hey Seawolves! Have you dropped off your ballot in one of the official ballot boxes on campus? You can follow its progress with California’s official “Where’s My Ballot?” tracker. Sign up for updates by text, email, or phone call to find out when your ballot is on its way, when Sonoma County receives it, and whether it has been accepted.

“Sent” means your ballot has been mailed to you. “Received” means election officials have received your ballot and are processing it. If it is accepted, it should move forward to be counted. If there is a problem, such as a missing or mismatched signature, the tracker should provide instructions for what to do next.

Updates may take a little time, especially after you use a drop-off box. The county collects ballots on a schedule and may need time to process them. If you want to check your status directly, visit My Voter Status or contact the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters at 707-565-6800.

Take a minute between classes to sign up for updates and keep an eye on your ballot. My Voter Status link: https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/
