This year's Earth Day was a great success! Clubs and organizations from the University, and agencies from the local community came together on Wednesday, April 22nd to celebrate the Earth and the campus' sustainability efforts. The groups that helped put on the event were JUMP, Students for Sustainability, the Fairfield Osborn Preserve, Catholic Charities, the Center for Community Engagement, the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency, SolarCity, the Sustainability Alternative Spring Break leaders, Campus Rec, and the Geography Club. Even though every day is Earth Day, this event was a wonderful opportunity to bring students together and show our appreciation for the planet and each other. Sustainability and environmental conscientiousness is growing on our campus, and it is events like these that are leading the culture change of the student body.

Special thanks to Liz Platte-Bermeo, Jazmine Kary, Nina Turner, Alix Bakke, Kara Kelly, Students for Sustainability, Mark Bradley, Maytal Orevi, Tania Carillo, and Mo Phillips for their outstanding contributions to SSU's Earth Day 2015!
