In a society that has now been accustomed to trusting a screen on a daily basis, it is quite refreshing to be able to put our electronics down and partake in actual conversation. At first, when I was asked if I would be able to attend Just Coffee I was a bit skeptical of what that meant and what would occur. Upon arriving at A'Roma Roasters Coffee and Tea, I noticed a small crowd of people sitting at the table simply talking about the week.
"I think it is a great way to meet members of the community whom I would have never met otherwise." Ashley Simon, an avid goer of Just Coffee, explained how important it is for people to simply come together for good ol' conversation.

I began speaking with people who had been current VISTA AmeriCorps members. They offered advice and support for my upcoming service year. This get-together was more than just the caffeine and mugs involved but the importance of conversation between people while promoting positivity and assurance.

Before coming to this get-together I was really nervous thinking I would not find anyone to talk to or would have nothing in common with the people there. But as the conversations started flying the topics started flowing. I really enjoyed hearing about the different ideas people had and the commonalities we share. I really look forward to the Next Just Coffee and caffeine-filled conversation.
